Some packaging plants have a spa next door. Others had them in the past. Others were close to having one or never had one. There are companies that have kept famous springs open to the public, and some of these lend their names to the most renowned water labels. Mineral medicinal waters, from health springs. Spicy, sulphurous and hot springs dotted across a mountainous and volcanic territory, where the water follows ancient routes that filter it to purity.

One of Salvador Dalí’s favourite mineral waters comes from a spring at Cap de Creus. It has had a constant chemical composition since 1904, when the Aigües Minerals de Vilajuïga company was born. Although Vilajuïga’s mineral water is naturally carbonated, it also has added carbon dioxide. The result is a very balanced mixture of natural and added sparkle, always with fine bubbles.

Located on the slopes of the Aro valley in the Gavarres hills, and commercialised since 1823, Aigua de Salenys is one of the ten oldest medicinal mineral waters in the Iberian Peninsula. It springs from a cool well 60 metres deep and has a high level of carbon dioxide. The CO2 and water are filtered separately during the production process and until they reach the bottle they maintain the same levels of carbon dioxide as at the source.

Sant Aniol Mineral Water is extracted from a spring formed more than 40,000 years ago, which emerges from a depth of more than 100 metres, into facilities located on sedimented lava and volcanic rock in the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. The purity and low mineralisation give this water a neutral flavour that makes it very suitable for cooking and for preparing coffees and infusions.
